Copper Mountain Project

Copper Mountain Area

The Opportunity

The Copper Mountain Lithium Project highlights:

  • 83 unpatented lode mining claims totalling 659 ha of exploration tenure.
  • Copper Mountain has a long history of prospecting and artisanal scale production, being historically mined for mica, feldspar, beryl, lepidolite and tantalite.
  • Multiple pegmatite target areas defined.

Location

The Copper Mountain Project is located approximately 80 km northwest of Black Mountain in Fremont County, Wyoming, USA. The project is within the Owl Creek Mountains on the northern side of the Wind River Basin and about 20 km northeast of the town of Shoshoni. The Project area is approximately 1,900 m to 2,200 m above sea level but has good land access off Highway 20 by a network of unsurfaced roads.

Copper Mountain Geology

Property Geology

The Copper Mountain Project area is underlain by Archaean rocks of the Wyoming Province and overlain in the southern part by Cainozoic sedimentary rocks.

Two phases of pegmatites are recognised, an early granitic pegmatite suite concordant with the schistose fabric which are not known to contain economic mineralisation and younger discordant pegmatite dike suite. This younger discordant suite contains economic minerals including lithium, tantalum and niobium bearing phases.
